John B. Gurdon: The Egg and the Nucleus: A Battle for Supremacy

Sir John B. Gurdon, University of Cambridge, will be presented next week with the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine 2012. Following a tour around Sweden, he will make a stop at Aarhus University on his way home. On Monday 17 December 2012, he will present his Nobel Lecture: 

The Egg and the Nucleus: A Battle for Supremacy

The lecture is open to all staff and students at Aarhus University, and it is followed by a reception in the Museum of Ancient Art ("Antikmuseet") and the Ambulatory ("Vandrehallen") at the university.

The Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine 2012 was awarded jointly to Sir John B. Gurdon and Shinya Yamanaka "for the discovery that mature cells can be reprogrammed to become pluripotent".
